Kick-off your summer reading club, “WILD READS at your library”, with an exotic experience! “Rainforest Legends”
with renowned musician/storyteller, Diane Edgecomb Saturday, June 28th 10:00 a.m.
From the banks of the Amazon River to the heart of the West African jungle, “Rainforest Legends” brings to life favorite folktales and songs about the animals and plants of these lands. You will hear about Amazon birds, invisible hunters and the monster Kibungo. Diane Edgecomb has been recognized nationally by Storytelling Magazine as a leader in the use of storytelling to promote environmental awareness. She has worked extensively with science and nature organizations throughout the Northeast, including the Museum of Science, the Massachusetts Audubon Society and the Park Service. This fun and fascinating event for families is partially funded by a grant from the Wilbraham Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. Registration begins on June 10th .
